TRADE MEMBER SIGNUP

2. If you are employed-by or directly benefit-from any business in the diamond, gem, or jewelry trade you are considered a Trade Member by DiamondDiscussion.com, and required to choose "Trade Member" as your profile type upon signup. If you are not considered a Trade Member you are required to choose "Consumer Member" as your profile type upon signup.

ALL ACTIONS AND ACTIVITY

3. You understand that all of your actions and activity on the Site are subject to these rules; including "messages" which will be seen by DiamondDiscussion.com Moderators.
4. Any account, which we believe is transmitting or otherwise connected with Spam or other unsolicited contact will be terminated at our discretion.
5. You agree that it will be the sole discretion of DiamondDiscussion.com as to what constitutes an abuse of any rule or term of service.

GENERAL

6. Do not create a username which is inflammatory, rude or offensive.
7. Do not create multiple IDs.
8. Do not use foul language.
9. Do not post or link-to content involving politics, religion or racial issues.
10. Do not post or link-to adult content, pages with links to adult content or content describing anything against the law.
11. Do not post any copyrighted material without appropriate acknowledgements.
12. Do not retransmit any information appearing on the Site.
13. Do not question moderator decisions or actions in public. Use private channels.

CONSUMER MEMBERS

14. Do not create a username which promotes a business.
15. Any payment, rewards, remuneration, discounts or any other benefits in exchange for posted testimony, referred products or services are strictly forbidden.
16. All solicitation, 'for sale' ads, etc., must be confined to the Classifieds area.
17. Be respectful. Keep debates civil. Treat others as you wish to be treated.

TRADE MEMBERS

18. Do not provide payment, rewards, remuneration, discounts or any other benefit to a consumer in exchange for posted testimony.
19. Do not post or link-to promotional content on the forums.
20. Senior Trade Members, Advertisers and Sponsors may post one promotional status message every 24 hours.
21. Advertisers and Sponsors may post promotional content in photo, video, blog and classifieds areas.
22. Maintain professional comportment. Post in the spirit of education and transparency. Give polite correction when necessary. Acknowledge your mistakes. Be respectful. Keep debates civil. Treat others as you wish to be treated.

LEGAL

23. If a court were to find that a member’s message constitutes libel or defamation, that person would be held legally responsible for damages to the reputation of that business. Under federal law (the Communications Decency Act), because DiamondDiscussion.com does not censor posted messages or investigate them for accuracy, DiamondDiscussion.com is not legally responsible for the complaints that are posted, even if those complaints contain remarks that are defamatory. However, this law does not protect the person who leaves the complaints from responsibility for those complaints.
